ICHOM standard set of outcomes for inflammatory arthritis

The International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM) is a non-profit organization founded by three esteemed institutions with the purpose to transform health care systems by promoting value-based health care. To achieve this, ICHOM aims to develop global standard sets of outcomes that really matter to patients with a medical condition and by driving adoption and reporting of these measures worldwide. These standards allow for international standardization and benchmarking that will improve the transparency and quality of health care worldwide.

Standard sets have already been developed for several major conditions. Recently, a new project team was put together to develop a standard set of outcomes for patients with inflammatory arthritis. Dr. Harald Vonkeman and dr. Martijn Oude Voshaar play an important role in this international project as working group chair and senior researcher, respectively. In an interview in the most recent issue of Medidact Reumatologie they explain more about the content and potential impact of the project. Download the article (in Dutch) here.
