ICHOM standard set for inflammatory arthritis launched

This week, ICHOM officially launched their recommended Standard Set for Inflammatory Arthritis. This standard set consists of those outcomes that really matter to patients with arthritis. Measuring these outcomes allows for international standardization and benchmarking that will improve the transparency and quality of health care worldwide.

Unique for this core set is that it is the first that facilitates the use of different outcome instruments to measure the core domains of the set, which will all be linked using item response theory.

Information about the standard set and extensive information about the implementation and specifications for data collection can be found on http://www.ichom.org/medical-conditions/inflammatory-arthritis/.

The standard set was developed by an international group of leading physicians, measurement experts and patients. TiH played an important role in this project group. TiH founders Harald Vonkeman and Mart van de Laar were chairs of the project team, while Martijn Oude Voshaar was the research fellow for the project.
